The Arabian Media Network has launched the “Artificial Intelligence Lab” project in Dubai, an idea the network has been developing for several years. This step marks a new milestone following more than 25 years of meaningful media work and innovation in serving development and society, while keeping up with the rapid digital transformation in the media sector both regionally and globally.
Dr. Mustafa Salameh, President of the Network, stated that since its establishment, the network has focused on using modern media and technology tools to produce meaningful Arab content based on innovative ideas and creative solutions. These efforts have led to major achievements at the national, regional, and global levels, including one of its projects entering the Guinness World Records in 2010.
He added that the network was among the first media organizations to support digital transformation through launching the “I’m Connected” initiative in 2001, which later evolved into a specialized TV program titled “Smart Government.” In addition, the network organized the annual “Smart Government Exhibition and Conference” in cooperation with Index Conferences, with its first edition opened by H.H. Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum in 2015 at the Dubai World Trade Centre, with participation from more than 120 UAE and Gulf government entities. The event produced key recommendations promoting smart government services, investment in modern technologies, and the idea of creating a specialized AI lab.
Dr. Salameh explained that the idea of the “Artificial Intelligence Lab,” first introduced in the final recommendations of the 2015 conference, has been developed over the years, and its official launch today marks the right time to activate it.
The lab will serve as a creative hub to support young talents with innovative ideas and skills in AI, guiding them to develop advanced media content, visual, audio, and written, that serves society and national development. It will also help raise awareness in areas such as women, children, health, culture, and the arts.
The lab will focus on training media professionals, strengthening cooperation with academic and research institutions, and building partnerships with technology companies to develop advanced media solutions that meet the expectations of Arab audiences and strengthen the presence of Arab media in the modern digital world.
