“Thank You UAE” Celebration Report
In February 2015, at the October Opera Theater at Misr University for Science and Technology in Cairo, the “Thank You UAE” Celebration stood as an unforgettable milestone in the history of UAE–Egypt relations.
The event was organized by the General Union of Arab Producers in collaboration with the Arabian Media Network, in honor of the United Arab Emirates and its noble media for supporting the journey of the Egyptian people.
With high-level official attendance, 60 prominent figures from the UAE’s cultural and media sectors were honored, individuals whose contributions and achievements played a key role in strengthening and documenting UAE-Egypt relations. Among them was Dr. Jamal Sanad Al Suwaidi, then Director General of the Emirates Center for Strategic Studies and Research, who received a unique, one-time award titled “Knight of Arab Studies.”
Leading UAE media institutions were also recognized, including Abu Dhabi Media Company, Dubai Media Incorporated, Sharjah Broadcasting Authority, the National Media Council, twofour54 Abu Dhabi, Dubai Media City, and the Arab Radio Network. A number of distinguished Emirati media professionals were honored as well, including Dr. Ali Al Shuaibi, Issa Al Meel, and Ali Obaid.
The “Thank You UAE” Celebration captured widespread media attention and continues to stand as a symbol of the deep-rooted relationship between the UAE and Egypt.
