Arab Producers Forum
Over the years, the Arabian Media Network has made a strong cross-border media impact, working to bring Arab media together on one platform in service of Arab identity. As the executive media arm of the General Union of Arab Producers, under the umbrella of the League of Arab States, the network organized a specialized recurring event in television and drama production titled the “Arab Producers Forum,” with its first edition held in 2005.
The forum was hosted at the headquarters of the League of Arab States in Cairo and later moved to other Arab capitals in subsequent editions, carrying its unifying slogan: “Towards a Unified Arab Media.” Its activities brought together Arab TV and drama production companies through workshops, discussions, and development sessions.
During the forum, a number of prominent Arab figures who contributed to strengthening the role of Arab media and drama were honored. Among them was H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, who received the special “First Patron of Arab Media Award” in recognition of his significant role in advancing Arab media. Prince Alwaleed bin Talal was also honored for his contributions to the development of Arab television production, along with former Egyptian Minister of Information Safwat El Sherif and Nobel Prize-winning author Naguib Mahfouz.
