Documentary Film – “Candles Lit in the Era of Hussein”
“Candles Lit in the Era of Hussein” is a unique documentary produced in 1994, highlighting the achievements of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan through the symbolism of 60 shining “candles”.
The film presents key moments from the life of His Majesty King Hussein bin Talal in an innovative documentary style, featuring live testimonials from 60 Jordanian national figures reflecting on the Kingdom’s journey over 60 years during his reign.
This distinctive documentary involved 60 leading government and private institutions in Jordan. It was promoted through a dedicated poster published in official Jordanian newspapers, alongside its broadcast on Jordan Television in coordination with the Royal Hashemite Court.
The film was produced by its sister company, Alwan Artistic Production, at its studios in Amman. It received very positive reactions across the Kingdom upon its release and remains a memorable work in Jordanian society.
