Joint Broadcasting

As part of a broader vision to modernize Arab media and strengthen its role as a tool for awareness and influence, a number of strategic projects have been launched. These aim to unify efforts, improve content quality, and strengthen Arab media independence.

Ideal Woman Program

The Ideal Woman Program was the first project of the Arab Women Campaign, produced with Al Aan TV.

It is a TV program that shows real stories of women who are seen as role models in their communities, each story is presented through short films that highlight their experiences and achievements.
The program focuses on showing the inspiring stories of Arab women, it also emphasizes that societies should give special recognition to positive role models and highlight them, so they can inspire future generations and young people, and the program was broadcast on 70 Arab TV channels.
In April 2010, it entered the Guinness World Records as the largest joint broadcast in the world for a TV program aired on this number of channels, around 500,000 women contacted the campaign to participate in the program.
The Arab Women Campaign also organized large events to honor outstanding women, these events brought together important public figures in countries such as the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and Lebanon, and through the program, the campaign honored many distinguished women in media across the Arab world and highlighted dozens of leading Arab women.

White Hands Drama

White Hands Drama is a series of televised cinematic films that focus on issues affecting Arab women and the challenges they face in daily life. It presents real-life inspired stories in a dramatic style that combines storytelling with documentary elements. The series was broadcast on 100 Arab TV channels over 16 weeks in 2012.

Each episode discusses a social issue in a dramatic format, with stories that reflect different Arab societies and countries. White Hands Drama is the second project of the White Hands Campaign, now known as the Arab Women Campaign. The project included 30 films from different Arab countries, produced using cinematic techniques and featuring well-known actors from across the Arab world. Some of the main topics covered in the series include domestic violence, child marriage, divorce, incest, and sexual harassment.

Let’s Challenge Corona

Let’s Challenge Corona is a TV program launched as part of the Arab Joint Broadcasting Campaign by Arabian Media Network and the Arab Women Campaign during Ramadan 2020, in cooperation with the Arab Satellite Broadcasting Union and under the supervision of the Technical Secretariat of the Council of Arab Information Ministers at the Arab League.

In its first phase, the campaign launched the “Let’s Challenge Corona” program, which aired for 6 months with the participation of 32 Arab TV channels from 14 countries. It achieved strong success as a joint Arab media initiative to address the COVID-19 pandemic and its impact on society and the economy during the global lockdown.

The program included a variety of reports, humanitarian initiatives, and positive stories from across the Arab world and beyond, aiming to raise morale and spread hope and optimism.

Notable guests included:

  • Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the Arab League.
  • King Abdullah II of Jordan.
  • Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
  • Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi.
  • Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

The program also highlighted many initiatives that support communities and promote hope across countries such as the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Yemen, Tunisia, Jordan, Iraq, Egypt, Algeria, Morocco, Palestine, Syria, Lebanon, and France.

The Queen

The Queen is a TV program about social responsibility, officially launched during the Cairo Media and Arts Festival in 2014. It is the first Arab TV format that searches for a queen of creativity and excellence through a joint Arab broadcast with the participation of more than 70 media organizations.

The first season aired on December 1, 2015, with around 25,000 applicants from 18 Arab countries. After passing several specialized selection stages, only 40 contestants were chosen. Each contestant presented a humanitarian initiative aimed at serving her country and supporting the community based on specific criteria.

The program ended with a live final ceremony broadcast on 30 TV channels and 16 FM radio stations across the Arab world, where the winner of the title “Queen of Social Responsibility” was announced, along with the first and second runners-up.

The program received several awards, including Best TV Program in 2016 on the World Social Responsibility Day and the Libya Creativity Award 2016.

The competition in the program is divided into three main stages:

  • The “Kingdom Entry” stage
  • The “Royal Palace” stage
  • The “Royal Chair” stage, where the winner and the runners-up are selected
