“Let’s Challenge Corona” Program
At the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, amid widespread concern across Arab and global societies, we created the idea of the TV program “Let’s Challenge Corona.” It was produced in cooperation with the Arab States Broadcasting Union, the General Union of Arab Producers, and in coordination with the Technical Secretariat of the Council of Arab Information Ministers at the League of Arab States.
Despite the challenges of lockdown, our team worked creatively and efficiently from home to produce the episodes. The program was broadcast during the holy month of Ramadan on more than 30 Arab TV channels, and later continued for several months, becoming a source of hope and morale support for Arab communities facing the pandemic and its impact.
The program highlighted positive aspects of life, including humanitarian initiatives and smart awareness campaigns on social media, as well as inspiring stories of doctors, volunteers, and innovators who turned fear into action and hope.
It was an inspiring campaign that featured the participation of many artists and public figures, and we were honored to include prominent Arab leaders whose words and initiatives strengthened the community during the crisis. Among them were His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan, H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, H.H. Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Ruler of Sharjah, and H.E. Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States.
Born out of the pandemic, the program left a lasting human and emotional impact, serving as a model that combines purposeful media with humanitarian values, a platform of life and hope.
